Who We Are

The Northern Lehigh Historical Society , a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, consists of dedicated members of our community. We bring to you events like The Gathering , an October Community Festival that was first held in 2004 to dedicate the Trout Run Covered Bridge, has continued annually with great success.

Proceeds from The Gathering help us to continue the construction and maintenance of the Slate Heritage Trail, the Bed Bug Cave Gardens, and other structures along the 3.3 mile length of the Trail. The Slate Heritage Trail runs from the Slatington Trailhead, through Washington Township, Emerald, and to the Slatedale Fire Company Athletic Fields.
